Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a solution that, when applied to the skin, promotes the blistering and shedding of the superficial layer of the skin, revealing newer, fresher, less damaged skin beneath.

Skin will be noticeably smoother and clearer after just one treatment. Chemical peels can be used to successfully treat a number of concerns like acne scars, blemishes, pigmentation, rough dry or uneven skin. At Time Clinic, we use only professional grade recognised brands iS Clinical and Obagi. These are medical grade chemical peels which exfoliate and aggravate only the very most top layer of the skin leaving behind a more radiant, rejuvenated complexion, noticeably impacting early signs of ageing after just one application.

How long do chemical peels last?

Chemical peels can last months after initial treatments. In as little as 1-3 treatments, we can achieve incredible results for many skin types and would recommend this be maintained with regular sessions every few months to continually maintain your brighter, more youthful glow.

The frequency of your maintenance plan will be dependent on the concern, skin type, and any other treatments you may be undergoing.

Please Note: There are many types of chemical peels available, and it is important that these are administered by a professional dermatologist, doctor, or skin health practitioner, as if they are not correctly handled, applied or neutralised, they can cause serious side effects including burns and scarring.

Frequently asked questions

The price of Chemical Peels depends on personal requirements, so we can’t provide an exact estimate until you book your initial consultation. The price for a Chemical Peel with the nurse starts at £100, with the cosmetic doctor at £130 for individual treatment.

We will thoroughly assess your skin at consultation to determine suitability for Chemical peels, though they are tolerated well by most people. People with darker skin tones may require a patch test prior to treatment.

Chemical peels are perfectly safe when administered by a skincare professional. This treatment may not be suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Some chemical peels may cause a tingling sensation, some mild discomfort and feeling of heat when applied. You may experience redness, and tightening sensations of the skin post treatment, although this usually subsides after a short while.

Some itching and tingling of skin during the shedding period is perfectly normal, and is not something that should alarm you. If you have any concerns, we encourage you to contact us and we will happily discuss this with you.

You will experience shedding of the skin within 3-4 days of the treatment. The shedding period can last for up to one week. This is a natural side effect of skin cell renewal. You can expect to enjoy optimum results 4-6 weeks post treatment. The application of make-up and exposure to the sun should be avoided until the skin is completely healed.
