Conditions
Teeth Grinding
Teeth grinding, can be an uncomfortable condition for the patient, whereby they suffer from an unconscious clenching of the teeth, most commonly when sleeping, although less frequent, it can occur when awake.
Teeth grinding can lead to physical pain as it may cause dental issues where the teeth become damaged through excessive grinding, and equally may lead to increased tooth sensitivity. When the case is severe, this subconscious grinding may cause additional issues such as; headaches, facial sensitivity and even earache. The patient may also notice they are not able to enjoy quality sleep, and their overall wellness can be affected. In extreme cases, widening of the jaw may occur from the overstimulation of the muscles in this area.
At Time Clinic, we use muscle relaxing injections to effectively target specific muscles, relaxing the muscle to temporarily prohibit grinding and or clenching of the teeth and jaw, which remain effective whilst sleeping so the patient is able to benefit from improved wellness as a whole.
