Neck Lines

Neck Lines

Neck lines are the lines that are produced by the (platysma) muscle which arises from the chest and shoulder, over the collarbone and runs across the lower jaw and the front of the neck. Neck lines can either present themselves as horizontal bands that circle the neck, or as vertical strips that are prominent when you clench your jaw.

Neck lines can begin to form as the skin naturally ages, and loses collagen and elasticity, resulting in sagging and creasing of the skin on the neck. More recently, in the technological age, people are becoming affected by neck lines earlier in life due to the excessive use of hand-held technology and consistent looking downward – neck lines caused by the overuse of technology are referred to as “tech neck”.
