Botox Waltham Abbey

What is causing my lines and wrinkles?

As we age the collagen in the skin starts to reduce and our skin loses its elasticity and firmness. Naturally, as the skin becomes more fragile and thin, you will start to see wrinkles appear.

When you smile, frown or squint, you’re constantly using your facial muscles. This is where dynamic or fine lines and wrinkles start to show.

With age and exposure to the sun and other elements, wrinkles can become deeper and more pronounced. These wrinkles are permanently visible and can make our face look tired and dull.

How do anti wrinkle injections work?

Botox uses the botulinum toxin to stop signals from the nerves to the muscle. This relaxes the muscle at the sight of the injection. As a result, the wrinkles in that area soften and relax, making them less visible.

With Botox treatment you can achieve smoother and younger looking skin. At Time Clinic, we help our clients get natural looking results, so you look more refreshed and not frozen.

Even if you don’t have many lines showing, this treatment can help delay the development of deep wrinkles. This will require continuous treatments.

How effective is Botox as a wrinkle treatment

Will Botox banish my wrinkles? This is a question we get a lot. While Botox safely and effectively reduces signs of ageing, it is not a permanent solution.

Botox can help get rid of fine lines around your eyes, forehead and mouth for up to four months. After this, you will require top-up treatments to maintain your results.

Should I get Botox or dermal fillers?

Botox is an effective treatment for taking care of fine lines that result from facial movement. If you have deeper, more permanent looking wrinkles, dermal fillers may be beneficial.

One of the benefits of dermal filler treatments is that it helps to fill deep lines and plump the skin. This helps to support the loss of collagen as we age, restoring volume back into sagging skin.

Dermal fillers that contain hyaluronic acid can help your skin lock in moisture. Over time, fillers can also help encourage your body’s growth of collagen.

What other treatments can enhance my results?

Botox treatment can help you achieve natural results, giving you a fresh-faced look. We often get patients asking us whether they can combine treatments to fight the effects of ageing. The short answer to this is yes. A great example of this is combining chemical peels with your Botox treatment.

What are the benefits of chemical peels?

Chemical peels are a great treatment for targeting a number of skin concerns. You can also tailor them to different skin types. The types of skin issues they treat depends on the strength of the chemical peels.

The benefits of a chemical peel include; improving the texture of your skin, reducing acne and acne scarring, and tackling fine lines and wrinkles.

We typically advise our clients to have this treatment before Botox. It is possible to have a chemical peel after your Botox treatment, however, you need to wait at least 24 hours. This is to ensure your skin is free of irritation and your Botox has time to take effect.
