Acne Scars

Acne scars are the marks affecting the texture of your skin following an outbreak of acne. You may find that the scars take on the appearance of pockets in the skin, or discolouration. Acne scarring is usually caused by the skin becoming aggravated when a spot or pimple has burst and damaged the skin’s surface. 

Picking, scratching or further irritating the affected area can increase the chance of creating some scars due to furthering the damage that can be naturally caused by an outbreak of acne. Depending on the severity of the condition, and the overall quality of the skin, the face or affected skin may also be left with an uneven texture described as a “rolling” texture, which, if left untreated, can be difficult to conceal. 

Acne Scar Treatment

If left untreated for a period of time, we find that it is rare that acne scarring will self correct entirely, although it may fade a little over time.
